ALL THE BEST, 'BIOL334 GRADUATES'!

Dear BIOL334 graduates,

have a great summer and best wishes for your future academic and professional careers!
It was a pleasure to work with such an enthusiastic and inquisitive group. 
By the way, remember the anonymous meiosis diagrams that you drew on the first day? They will be on the internet soon--I'll post the URL here.

i was wondering for biol 335 do we really need a clicker?

the ubc bookstore list says that we need to purchase one for the class

Hi!
You need a clicker for BIOL335 in the spring term (January-April), but I don't know if this also applies ot the summer session. The best person to ask would be Craig.

Hopefully next term peter parker and hemogoblin will behave more. It's so obvious that Mary Jane (MJ) was such a great student hahahaha
by the way Pam, I just want to start reading for 335, do you know what the first chapter to read is? I looked on the website, and it said ch 11, is that it?

Good morning!

The exams are not all marked yet---I am about to go do my part right now. Marks should be up Friday.

For the very keen people who would like to get a head start on BIOL335, the first chapter you'll go through is, I think, #10.
Also, you want to review your DNA-RNA-protein info from previous years! If you can drill into your brain what a promoter is, what a regulatory protein/transcription factor is and does, where, with respect to a gene's structure, transcription starts and stops, what a mature mRNA looks like in eukaryotes, where the ribosome binds, where protein synthesis starts and stops, how bacyetial genes are different from eukaryotic ones, and what makes different cell types different... well, you've got pretty much 3/4 of BIOL335 done!
